Nearly 3 and dummy fairy has ruined our sleep

LO is 3 in a week.

She's had a dummy since she was 8 weeks old. But we were strict and have only given her it for sleep.

She hasn't seen a dentist yet due to waiting lists in the area but she only got her full set of teeth 6 months ago and is still waiting on 3 back molars. She does have a slight list though and I know general advise is get rid of the dummy before 3, so we took the plunge.

We've had a summer of changes as she's gone into her big girl bed, dropped her nap and potty trained all in the last 3 months. We've had little to no issues with all of those, disruption for 3 nights max.

So I decided to do the dummy fairy a week before I went back to work, which is now tomorrow. She had an initial cry about wanting it back, but that was it. But since then she is taking up to an hour to fall asleep and waking at 5am. This is a loss of about 2/3 hours a night of sleep for our previous super sleeper.

She isn't upset, just singing to herself to get herself to sleep and in the morning. Which would be fine if it 1- wasn't so loud it woke the entire house 2- wasn't making her such a crabby monster by 2pm due to the less sleep. It's been a week. Please tell me it gets better?

I know it could totally be worse, pitty party is over now 😂

It'll get better. Keep at it.
