Can anyone lend me some (Mandarin) Chinese children's books?

I have been learning Mandarin since September and I'm struggling to learn/recognise the Chinese characters - we started off doing pinyin, which is much easier!

I have realised that if I make myself read everything in Chinese characters then I have a much better chance or remembering them.

We're at a level where most Chinese writing is too complex, but it struck me that children's books would be great!

Does anyone have any that they could lend me - or can you point me in the direction of a good shop?

TIA

Hi Because, I am also trying to improve my Mandarin. Someone once pointed me in the direction of this website, though I have never used it: xihaha

Are you near London? I understand that there are shops in Chinatown.

Thanks blueshoes - looks like an interesting site.

Not too far out of central London, but I tend not to go there very often. If I can stuff online that would suit me better.

I spoke to my teacher this morning and she's going to start giving us texts to read next year, so hopefully that will help!

If you have a good children's library near you there should be some kids books in stock. Give them a call - they can always order them in during the next intake, if convinced. There are a number of titles that are used in primary schools that are translated into most languages including han zi.
