was looking at the packs of nappies like Callum has only wore preterm nappies in SCBU and has been in washables since then. I had no idea. If that lady was a Mnetter, thanks

we went for midi and they are huge on him, defo has a Simon Cowell look about him. I think his bum looks too small now, I love his cloth bum. Its only because we are going away for a few days to see SIL and didn't fancy lunging dirty nappies home.

lol i had this the other month when my wash machine broke and i couldnt get the new one delivered for days. i'm lucky as my friends little boy is roughly the same size as my dd, so i phoned to ask her advice on what size to get

lentengrrl · 20/03/2008 14:11

you just read the packets! lordy.

PotPourri · 20/03/2008 14:13

I use cloth too and have done since birth for both mine. We're off on hols with my mum&dad in a few weeks and my mum bought a whole load of eco-disposibles and eco wipes/bags etc so that I don't have any work to do. Like you, I was like ....errrrrmmm.... when she asked if that size would fit!

BigBadMouse · 20/03/2008 16:26
  • Had the same thing happen to me when I had to buy some disposables a few months ago. The shop only had 'new baby' size on the shelves so I asked if that was all they had.

Lady behind the counter: what size do you need?

Me: I don't know, I haven't bought any for ages.

Lady: How much does she weigh?

Me: Um....not sure I haven't had her weighed since she was 8 months

Lady: How old is she?

Me: Um....what month is it now?

Worse still, I realised the woman behind me in the queue was a nurse who had treated DD for a black eye the day before
Do I win some sort of award for this display of crappy parenting??

Ooh it isn't just me that did that!

I went in when he was reacting to his nappies. I was already hormonal, plus not wanting him in disposables, and there was this shelf of 10,000 makes and sizes (I suddenly realised how overwhelmed new cloth customers feel!!) - I welled up, and spotted mum with a similar sized baby. She must have thought I was a freak, this tearful woman asking what size nappies her child wore

Ineedsomesleep · 22/03/2008 09:08

lol, went to the Baby show when DS was about a month old and they had loads of changing facilities with free nappies so decided to try them. Had to ask for some help with putting it on.

Think one other mum was so shocked that I couldn't put a nappy on my baby she nearly phoned social services.

MozzybearBaileysIce · 22/03/2008 10:01

I had to buy sposies a while ago and I had to stand and really concentrate on sizes etc. Think everyone though I was bonkers but not as much as my MiL who had to give me lessons in putting sposies on

They're just too light... can't get a grip on them... not like my trusty fluffles!

SparklyGothKat · 22/03/2008 18:44

Not impressed, they leaked!! I am back home now and can use my totbots again YIIPPPEEE!!!!
