Stroller pushchair for tall toddler with tall parents? Joie, Ergobaby, Cosetta or Nuna? Help!

I can't research this anymore, help me mumsnet! Really struggling to choose and no places near us have the options we are interested in to try out.

Our toddler is on the 99th percentile for height. He's 17 months. My DH is 6'6. We're looking for a stroller that will work for both.

We'd like:
Handle height at least 105cm
Lie flat (or nearly flat) seat but also sits up nice and straight
High back and head rest on the seat (he's already above the Silver Cross Clic seat back)
Decent basket
Up to 22kg or more max weight for child
Buggy no more than 8kg weight, ideally less than 7kg
Ideally plane sized but not a deal breaker if it has to go in hold
Ideally can attach car seat (maxi cosy) as we have another baby on the way

I've narrowed it down to:
Joie Parcel Signature
Ergobaby Metro+
Cosetta Whoosh 3
Nuna TRVL

Anyone got any of these? Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot and get something that doesn't work for us.

We had Ergobaby and I loved it but my husband is 6’1 and he found it too low, so I would rule that one out.

Silver Cross pop - worked for us (both over 6ft) and 99th centile height child. Up to 25kg weight limit.

Givemepickles · 22/01/2024 20:25

Thanks both. I'll rule out Ergobaby then.

@SummitOfMountWashmore how did you find having 2 handles with the pop? I'll probably have baby in a sling and toddler in buggy so may need to steer one handed at times.

Never had any issue and often pushed one handed when walking the dog on the lead.

Is there any equivalent of mothercare these days? I don't know how you're expected to cope without actually looking at these things before you commit!

We have the Ergobaby metro+ deluxe and the handlebar extends. My dh is 6ft and I think he found it was fine. On the website it says 95-105cm. This is the newer model.

The caveat is the pushchair is 9.5kg. We bought it for our 6m old to go abroad and he loved it. We had to put it in the hold at the steps, then get it from the carosol the other side. The padding is great for comfort. It is faffier than others to fold but not a dealbreaker. I love it and I’m glad I bought it. Can’t say on the other pushchairs.

I can’t advise about the height compared to your child though. My ds is only 9 months old so it’s hard to compare.

Around us there are just fairly small selections in John Lewis and Mamas and Papas. Went to John Lewis already and they only had one that I had wanted to see. Would love it if bigger shops still existed where these could be tested.

We've actually decided to bite the bullet and order the Joie Parcel Signature. It has great reviews and seems to tick every box. We noticed the Silver Cross Pop doesn't have a bumper bar and our wee boy loves holding it so that ruled it out. Hoping the Joie is the one!!

Oh just to add, the basket is tiny and not good compared to the typical pushchairs. I guess a compromise of it being a travel pushchair. That was a bit annoying, but I still managed to squeeze the backpack under (changing bag).

Blue2020 · 22/01/2024 21:31

Hope the joie works out for you.

I’ve stumbled across your post after struggling making a decision for a travel pram. I’ve just received the joie parcel. Seems to tick all boxes but have you tried taking it on board yet? We fly to America quite a bit with Virgin Atlantic or TUI and hoping I can take it on with me as I travel with my almost 2 year old alone some of the time.

Hi! Just seen this post and was wondering whether you could review the parcel? I'm interested in getting it but have seen very little reviews about it

Hey, we are really pleased with it. I'm guessing from your username that you're also tall and wanting a high handle? My DH is 6'6 and manages the Joie fine and so do I at 5'7.

Thanks! Yes I am 5'9. That's good too know. I think I've finally decided. Will get it around autumn when we plan to travel and DC turns 1.

Kaaldane · 24/05/2025 18:34

Hi how did you find the parcel? Have a 16 month old and her head was nearly at the top of the joie parcel so couldn’t get it!

Paaseitjes · 24/05/2025 20:59

I have a yoyo (designed for short arses!) which we need for public transport and our tiny appartememt and compact city. I've added square bicycle handle bars to give height and length, which has worked really well
