What to put under this large playpen?

We got this large playpen on Freecycle. Think it's 1.8m by 2m. There is a thin fabric at the bottom but not a proper mattress and there is a small gap between the bottom and the floor. What am I supposed to put under the playpen as a mattress pls? A duvet?cardboard? Thanks!

Saying it will only be for a couple of months won't make it any better. You want your son to lay down in a play pen alone starting at the ceiling?

You may as well keep him in a cot next to you for a few hours.

As others have said at least they do sleep lots at this age so work then. Roughly 3 hours whilst napping and another 3 in the evening before you go to bed. If that’s not enough then you need you partner or another family member to take them for a bit or catch up at the weekend.
