Stand in front of the highchair and put your hand down the inside of the tray. If you feel along the backbit there are two clippy-on bit. If you pull either of them at the same time as lifting the tray it will come off.

There is a bit of a knack (sp?) to it, but it can be done! That being said, DH still can't do it! Failing that - brute strength and swearing works.

Good luck!

BTW - you are not an idiot! I don't think there is an owner of this highchair that hasn't struggled with this - anyone who tells you different is a blatant lar!

I've broken two of them... definitely a knack to it.

Stand it front of it and pull it upwards (kind a curve shape) from the front.

I'm on tray number two as DP broke the first one yanking the tray thinking it would slide out not pull up.

We came to the conclusion that it is an add-on to the basic chair rather than a handy on/off tray as it took 2 of us several attempts, time, sweat, swearing, brute force and a chunk of skin to remove the tray. Haven't been brave enough to try to put back on again.
