DD was very disappointed to get Scrabble instead of Monopoly last week

This week my mum rings me to say that the Times are now saying that Scrabble isn't suitable for children as it has rude words in it

Grr

I know...can you believe they've even included the letters C U N and T in a game FFS. What is the world coming too

KatyMac · 09/03/2008 12:32

Apparently it's when you play against the computer it uses rude words

She is only 10 so I probably wouldn't use slang or swear words when playing with her

It's just a pain really

I wouldn't have this problem if they had given us Monoploy as they promised

sorry - I was just being an arse.

That is annoying. Does it jus mean that they haven't filtered out slang/sweary words? Or is it a special rudey edition? If the former, I'd probably just let her play with it TBH.

KatyMac · 09/03/2008 12:37

They haven't filtered it

Apparently they weren't expecting children to want to play Scrabble ?

That's stupid of them. They should have had a child-friendly option on the game. The chances of a really bad word coming up are fairly low though, I would think.
