DS is 22mo and the past few weeks teeth brushing has been a STRUGGLE. That’s putting it lightly.

So now he runs away or rolls away if he’s laying down, refuses to open his mouth , will put the toothbrush in for 5 seconds then launch it

Weve tried all sorts. We have a baby electric one, he’s had a non electric. I have a silicone finger brush which he lets me do a bit but I really just need some tips how to get the full 4 min a day done? (2x min morning 2x min night)

It took a while with granddaughter. Hey duggie helped ,watching us clean our teeth, GD playing with taps and her feeling in control. She is now 3.7 and reminds us to clean her teeth…you will get there!

Pin them down, 2nd parent to hold legs if necessary. I'm a total fluffy gentle parent but I don't dick about with teeth

This. Teeth are non negotiable.

I had the same problem with my kids. They hated brushing their teeth, so I came up with a story about a boy who wouldn't brush his teeth until he met a pirate called Black Tooth Bob and that once he saw the pirate's teeth and the smell from his breath, he started brushing. Anyway, it worked. They loved the story, and it took their mind off the brushing. So successful was it that beginning of November (2023) I will publish the book on Amazon. It's a rhyming picture book called "Toothbrush Tantrum" by Mark Powell. Look it up when it comes out. It may help with getting them to brush their teeth. 😃
