Any hairdressers out there? Please come and help me with DS's hair.

If you have a look at the top photo on my profile, you can see how wild DS's hair has become.

He has never had a haircut so I don't know what to do but can't really be bothered with making an appointment and paying a fortune at a proper hairdressers to have it cut.

Any tips on how to cut it?

PurplePillow is a hairdresser I believe, she was very helpful yesterday when my DD hair was matted. she will probably be along soon

If I were you I'd get him used to hairdressers sooner rather than later. You won't always be able to get away with cutting it. It should only cost a few quid.
My mum cut my ds's hair and it looked awful.

Right - the bottom photo on my profile is how I would like to cut it - the top photo is how it is now.

Fluffy - my mum keeps offering but I have so far declined - although why I think I could do a better job, I have no idea.

No advice but I'm going to be watching this thread - your DS's hair looks like my DS's hair! I have no clue what to do with it either!

He is gorgeous! I'd be inclined to leave it too. DS was 3.2 before his first haircut, he's got very similar hair to your son (blonde, a bit curly, seems quite fine?) and there just didn't seem to be enough hair to cut before then!

As your ds's hair is a bit curly anyway and will be uneven at the moment as it's not been cut, I can't see why an uneven home cut would look worse! If he had straight hair then I'm sure an amateur hacking at it would make it look dreadful.

We did ds's by letting him sit on his trike in front of the tv watching some longed for but forbidden programme. Kept him glued to the screen for a full half hour which was more than enough for my MIL to get busy with the scissors.

Looked fine after and his hair seemed to be thicker instantly, this was in the middle of Jan and it needs doing again really although I would love to grow it to mid-ear level again.
