Toddler never wants to go anywhere :(

2 year old DD puts up a huge fuss whenever we leave the house. Tears, screaming, needs to be carried to the car... and we are going to fun places like the playground and the beach! Once we are at these places, she is usually happy (and puts up a fuss when it's time to go home). But I am finding it so draining. Looking for reassurance that this will pass and also solidarity I suppose :(

Our 2 year old grandson does not want to go in his pram or go for a walk or go in the car ,which means we are stuck in our house all day watching his t.v .we love him so much but we know we have to get him out of this routine .

I can understand it’s frustrating but if it’s one day a week I’d try and adapt to what makes them feel safe and content.

Could you try some activities that will distract them from the TV, like baking or helping with the gardening?

My own DPs had my DC one day a week and didn’t take them out much. The DC had a few toys, they liked building train sets with Grandpa, they helped with cooking or baking and if the weather was nice everyone went in the garden and they played or helped.

Did anything change around that time, maybe an illness or a change in childcare?

Yes it did actually !!even though he does like the nursery ,he has been going for around 1 year ,maybe going back after the christmas holidays ,and having the routine change .he has been moved into the older set maybe this is a problem to him ?different room .I remember the other evening I was taking him back home ,he was so upset getting in the car ,so I cuddled him and told him everything was going to be ok ,he did actually stop .he loves coming to his nanny's home ,I just want him to be able to let him experience all the different activities, and wild life ,in the farm near were we live and meeting other children .
