Whats the difference between Active Baby and Baby Dry and what ones are the best? SS just about to move from Newborn Pampers (I tried Huggies they were hard and kept leaking :()

Am in small flat with no tumble drier so can't use reusables:(

active baby work out more expensive- you get less in a packet. i used baby dry till dd was moving and then the active baby. Still use the baby dry at night though

Try Tesco nappies - honestly. They're better than Pampers or Huggies and cheaper too. DS's has only leaked once, and that was when I didn't put it on properly because I was in a hurry and he wouldn't stop flipping onto his front - like some kind of automatic baby-flipper machine was under him!!

Another fan of Tescos nappies... to be honest, wouldn't even of TRIED them if it wasn't for this site Blush but both Pampers and Huggies were leaking badly for ds2 and I thought "why the hell not". Haven't had a leak since...

Active Baby are stretchy, Baby Dry aren't - if you've got a wriggler AB are much easier to get on. I've not found any difference in terms of leakage. I prefer the Active ones.

colditzcolditzcold · 11/12/2004 23:16

how old is dd? I would recommend baby dry until she is walking at least - to be honest I still prefer them now and ds is 20mo. He must have a funny shaped bum Grin cos the active ones leak like merry hell unless I change them hourly. If your dd is still on a mainly liquid diet, the baby dry may be better all round.

mishiclaus · 11/12/2004 23:16

hi as pixie said i also use active of a day and dry of a night...i find the active fit great if your lo moves around a lot...or is a toddler...like mine cos of him climbing etc they are fexible and move with him

xmashampermunker · 11/12/2004 23:24

Georgina, I'm the same - read the reviews on here and thought what the heck - have the last of the Pampers in the wardrobe and still not through them! Tesco ones feel nicer, are stretchy unlike the BabyDry ones and haven't leaked except that one time (even the copious poo explosions DS can muster!).

Blimey - I should be in the ads for them!

I do use reusables sometimes, used to more, but then realised how depressed I was getting about the washing mountain...

I think i've tried just about every nappie going.I Like tescos nappies. Also like Active baby use them most cause they seem to fit better, and ds is very wriggly (not walking yet) they're also not as bulky, didn't really get on with baby dry.
