Ok he is four after all. But we thought this weekend we'd have a go, he was keen. First night DH got him up before we went to bed and he wasn't interested. Slept through until 7.30 and dry! Second night I lifted him nearly comatose at 10.30pm, half hoping he'd go and half praying he wouldn't as for some reason was aiming directly at my face! No interest and crying to go back to bed. So last night we just left him and again he slept through until 7.45 with no accidents. Hasn't used loo in night either, but we have left a little light on. Is this it now or is he just lulling us into a false sense of security?! He is so proud... Must admit he is a pain with food but sleeping and toilet training so far no problem!

Well done to your ds..out of interest why are you lifting him? I know some people go for that but never done it myself.

I read it somewhere - but we haven't last night and was ok and will leave tonight so glad to hear it isn't essential! Had no time to ask best friends with older kids.....I am relieved though - I so need my sleep and waking to change bed I was dreading - funny thing is when wearing nappies he had always used it in the night as it was heavier. He hasn't worn them for naps for a long long time though.

my ds used to wee in his nappy because he knew it was on. When it was taken from him he was fine. Hope last night went well.

Ds is the same - also just 4. Asked for no nappies on Thurs night. To my total surprise & shock (has never had a dry nappy in the morning. Four night so far - two accidents, but so, SO much better than I expected - well done little prauline
We didn't do lifting (ds has historically been a rubbish sleeper, so feel waking him unnecessarily was worth it )
Top tip (learnt on here) is to layer the bed (mattress protector with sheet on top, then another mattress protector with another sheet etc - means you just need to whip off one layer, change pjs and shove them back into bed!

Another dry night, looking good for not needing nappies again! May take some on holiday in a few weeks, just in case it unsettles him.
