Is it ok to let toddler use headphones with DVD player?

We are going on a 10 hour flight in the next couple of weeks. We are trying to work out how to keep our daughter ( 20 months ) occupied and happy so we thought of letting her watch some cartoon DVDs on the flight with headphones - but is it ok to let toddlers use headphones?? I am worried it might harm her hearing??

Thanks

I hope it's OK as I've always let dd use them. we use the old fashioned ones (i.e. not in ear ones cos they are too big)and make sure it's turned down really low.

On a plane, to entertain them? HELL, YES! It's fine! Anything that keeps them quiet, I say.

I would, but you'll have to closely monitor the volume. She might turn it up too loud when you're not looking.

I doubt a few hours with headphones will do any damage as long as it isnt blasting! However we found we didnt need to use the headphones for the portable dvd player on a flight with our DS recently - as long as it wasnt turned up too high the sound didnt seem to carry, probably because of the background noise on the plane - we did have to use the headphones for the inflight movie though.

Only if you have control of the volume.

Thanks everyone, I have control of the volume and am getting her used to the headphones before we go
