What age to take sides off cot?

When did you know it was time to remove sides off cot bed?

@EmbracingTheEyeBags I couldn’t see how DS managed to get out of his cot bed when the sides were still up and base was at its lowest level and he was in a sleeping bag. But somehow he did!
