Hi. Just booked our first holiday as a family and just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of what we should take that are useful for plane journey, round the pool and just to make our life a bit easier. The plane journey is 2 hours and we are going in May to Spain.

We are going all inclusive, what food would baby be allowed from the buffet or should I take my own for him? I haven’t started weaning yet so not sure about food or anything

Also if he has cereal what milk do I use ? He is currently breastfed.

Any advice appreciated x

We took a small paddling pool when we went on holiday with an 8 month old - it meant she could sit in it with a little bit of pool water and safely have a splash in the shade.

A snooze shade was handy.

Defo up swimsuits with long sleeves.

We first travelled with an 8 month old. Agree re aisle seat-- lots of pacing the aisles.

Also second the snoozeshade - my daughter only slept once in the pram so we didn't get much benefit out of it for sleep reasons, but if you get one with a zipdown window in the front (if you're buying snoozeshade brand it's the 'Plus Deluxe') it creates like a little windowed tent round the buggy which meant we didn't have to apply sunscreen to an unwilling baby like we would have otherwise.

We took a car seat for lots of reasons - if you're considering the same, know that we found it super easy - the original box was perfect for packaging it and with a roll of parcel tape in my hand luggage it was easy to set up/down (and easy to store flattened in the taxi and under the bed at our accomodation).

Agree with previous tips, except on our our first holiday we collected stuff from boots at the airport and it was a pain and I'd never do it again. Trying to juggle extra stuff we'd picked up at the airport, plus a baby onto the plane etc is extra stress I could do without tbh! We always pack it in the case now.
Second the comments about snoozeshade, we love it and I always take our own cot sheets. We take snacks as she has an allergy but never had any problem finding food at all inc buffets for her.
We have a lightweight travel pram which we love, we go away frequently so have got a lot of use but probably isn't a necessity.
Have a fab time!
