Really struggling being a SAHM mum today. My partner works away and isn't here 3 days out of 7. We have a 2.5 and 1.5 year old. When he isn't here I find it so hard to cook for myself on an evening and usually end up ordering- we can't afford this and then I'm riddled with guilt. I know all the things I should be doing- batch cooking etc. But im so EXHAUSTED.
I thought moaning here might help- I don't think my partner can take anymore moaning!
Put 'Me🙋🏼‍♀️' if you're in a similar boat and mooooan away

I really like stuffed pasta, tortellini etc. Those rava ones - they cook in 2 mins (can even just put boiling water on and leave to stand a bit), add veg or olive oil or premade sauce or whatever if you can be arsed. Sometimes I whack frozen peas in the same pan with them.

They last for ages and freeze too. Cost about £2-3 and get two meals out of one. Much cheaper than takeaway!

But I feel you on the eugh, I'm stuck home with my daughter who's off school but not particularly ill and it's intensely boring!

It's funny you say that- the veg is chopped and ready to bung in tomorrow morning with a beef joint so at least I have managed that and the next couple of days are sorted. Only just bought the slow cooker- hope it's as easy as everyone says

Honestly my slow cooker is a life saver in meaning we eat healthy home cooked meals!
As a single mum to a 6 month old and a 2 year old, tonight was the first night in a while I cooked a home cooked meal on the hob and it was chaos! I do a mixture of slow cooker meals, leftovers in the freezer meals and when the toddler is at nursery I prep dinner for that night or batch cook things like cottage pie and spag bowl and put it in the freezer, my freezer currently has 2 weeks worth of dinners in so once my fresh veg and meat is used up in the fridge I'll probably do a week of just pulling dinners from the freezer!

I don’t know what meals your kids are having but I was in the same situation when mine were small and I always ate with them. I had to put up with some odd combinations but it meant once they were in bed I could relax.

I'm currently a sahm and really struggle with it. Mine are slightly older 8, 5 and 3, I love being able to stay at home but also find it incredibly lonely and lack motivation. I worked after having my oldest two but left after dc3 and did work a bit last year but that's now finished. Think DH is sick of me moaning too 😬 Could you prep meals whilst your DC's nap? Or use a slow cooker? I try to do easy meals and freeze a portion (spag bol) so not taking up too much time
