Baby "crawling" backwards

My baby is 6 1/2 months old and has been pushing herself backwards for a month now but doesn't manage to move forward. Is this normal? She does these planks and tries so hard to move forward but it doesn't work

She's 8 months and we'll... Yes. Still going in reverse. She does the crawling movement but it doesn't work at allll

I thought mine wouldn’t crawl! Hated being on his tummy, backwards sliding, but has now got the hang of it at 10 months and there’s no stopping him. They just get there in their own time.

So adorable and funny,
now and when you look back 😂

It's known as the "receding universe" stage in our house

It is but watching her frustrates me🤣 she's been trying for 2 months and I'm wondering if she'll ever get there or if she just says fk it and goes straight to walking

My daughter did this and commando crawling backwards for several months- she would get so cross that the toy was getting further away! However just before Christmas (aged 10m) she started hesitantly taking 2-3 crawling 'steps' forward and then suddenly took off- she is now confidently crawling all over at great speed!

So normal that there is a whole, very lovely, episode of Bluey about it. x

It's even on YouTube: m.youtube.com/watch?v=xmkCmJtK6X8&cbrd=1

If you've not really watched it before, I highly recommend Bluey for your parenting needs. It's on iPlayer and Disney+

Helena1993 · 04/01/2023 07:51

I'll watch it😁
