Challenging 4 year old behaviour

I'm at my wits end :(

DS is 4.5 years old- has been in private nursery since he was 1 and has recently started pre school nursery (Scotland)

He seemed to really love school nursery at the start and it was a bit of a challenge getting him into his private nursery as he still goes there 1x day a week. We knew this was down to a new routine and expected it to be like that for a few weeks

Now his behaviour in both settings is becoming unmanageable.

He refuses to follow rules- it's his way or no way. Sharing and taking turns is also a challenge for him.

He is kicking and biting staff and other children and it's becoming more frequent

Nursery have been calling us numerous times to say DS is having a challenging day etc.

This morning at drop off he refused to enter the nursery then when he did manage to get in he ran back out again into the cloakroom area

He has an older brother and at home he can be the most loving caring wee boy but can turn quickly and we can't cajole him out of a bad mood

It's really starting to affect the whole family now

Where am I best to go for support? His health visitor? His key worker is lovely and we have said we want to work together to try and improve things and they are going to speak to his other nursery so they are consistent

Has anyone else had this with their 4 year old? Any tips?

My youngest was like this, was down to boredom.

He was ready to learn whereas nursery is all play based. Soon as he started reception he was much better behaved.
