What time do your 7 year olds go to sleep?

Genuinely curious, Dd 7, year 3 and nearly 8 is usually in bed by 7-7.30 but does not usually nod off until 9pm! She just doesn't seem to get tired and has endless energy!

she wakes about 7-7.30am, sometimes earlier. I have another child who's up at the crack of dawn every morning 😅

dd's closest friend is a similar age and her parent is often shocked when I say that Dd is often still awake until 9pm and had also made judgey comments. Her 7 year old goes to bed at 6.30pm and asleep by 7.

Dd is not roaming the house all evening, she chills in bed, often with a bit of TV then she has relaxing music to go sleep too on the iPad, she just wouldn't go sleep at 7.

but what is normal? Dd gets about 10 hours if she sleeps 9pm-7am!

I'd say bedtime at that age is upstairs at 8, teeth/bath/reading for a bit and then lights out 8.45 or 9?

Most nights 8 year old goes up at 7pm, reads for half an hour and then it's lights off at 7:30pm and he's asleep by 8pm latest. If he's super tired he'll fall asleep reading before lights out. He sleeps til 7/7:30am regardless of school or weekend days. We do notice that if he has a later night on a Friday or Sat he will still wake at the usual time the following morning but is grouchy towards the end of that day. He's a very very active child so really needs his sleep, whereas I know others the same age that don't need anywhere near as much sleep. I think it just varies, although obviously getting enough sleep (for that individual) is very important for childrens brain development.
