Nope! Sounds to me like you are doing everything right. I do exactly the same as you but use 1/2 the washing powder.

The only time my nappies smell is if I forget the cold rinse a few times or if my machine needs a maintenance wash (I have a washer drier and they are notorious for causing strange smelling nappies).

I do wonder if it is just the smell of the Bamboo as you say. It does have it's own scent which I suppose could be 'pond like'

Hello btw

Maybe an extra rinse just to make sure all the powder has gone and there is no build up

I haven't tried bamboo so couldn't comment on the smell, but sometimes I find it useful to put a spoonful of PHP nappy soak in with our nappies.

I used to put tea tree oil in the bucket with Napisan. Meant to be antiseptic and a lovely smell.

Hi there
I use bamboozles too and have never had a strange smell from them. After reading through your post the only things I can see we do differently are:
I use paper liners which I bin after each use so the pooey nappies aren't left in the bucket.
I also use Tommee tippee nappy bright in the wash (about a tablespoon in each wash, ebay is good for this)
It could be your washing powder I use e-cover (I use about 1/2 of recommended amount)
Anyway good luck
