Baby is turning 11 months and still won't clap?

What age did your babies start clapping? I'm concerned because I constantly clap and show my baby how. He'll be 11 months on the 2nd and is showing no signs he will be clapping soon. I read that most start at 9 months?

Mine is 11 months and doesn't clap. All babies are different so please don't worry. If something was amiss, it would likely have been picked up by the HV during their review. x

My almost 14 mo claps but doesn't wave or point. They do things in their own time

My baby is 10 months old and the youngest of 5 children. She’s been able to clap since 8 months but can’t crawl yet at all!

So please don’t worry, as said above all babies are different and all progress at their own pace. He will get there when he’s ready 💗

Hi OP I am always worrying about milestones! My DS is 8.5 months and no clapping waving or pointing yet so feeling reassured by this thread! He's only jsut started to learn to crawl, he can't get from lying to sit yet and his weaning journey is a nightmare (basically he's not interested in anything!) they're all so different.

My almost 14 month old refuses to clap, he does everything else, he'll clap my hands for me but just will not clap himself. The HV wasn't concerned at all

My DD didnt clap until she was about 13 months and then she didnt STOP clapping and then I worried it was a stim.

We always worry over something!

spookyyy · 04/09/2024 11:14

@Mumof3bb1 hey! He eventually started clapping haha, glad for this comment as looking back I realise how daft some of the things I've worried about previously are lol 😆 x
