Can you solve bottle refusal?

Has anyone successfully solved bottle refusal? If so how? I have a 3mo baby who won’t take a bottle… any ideas? He did used to take one but we didn’t offer one for the last 4 weeks and now he won’t take one.

just wondering if your LO continued to take a bottle?
we are on day 2 of trying a new technique with our bottle refusing DC2.
tried the whole not offering breast for day but it was extremely stressful for everyone involved (desperate to stop bf due to poor painful latch which can’t be improved)
last night DC2 took 3oz from MAM bottle slow flow and tonight 1oz. So fingers crossed.

Yes he did. Until now it’s just by switching the boob out for the bottle after a minute or two but a couple of days ago he took his first feed straight from the bottle with no boob switching… Good luck! Let me know if you need any tips

@AlmostOver22 just wondering how you’ve got on? Is little one just on bottle now? And if so is he on formula now? We are having a nightmare getting him to take any bottles! He just puts in it his mouth and it’s like he’s forgotten to suck! Just bites the teat and moves it around in his mouth!

I thought we’d cracked it because he fed quite happily from a bottle for about a month then suddenly stopped about a month ago. And in the past few days he’s suddenly started rejecting a dummy too which is really annoying… it’s so much harder to get him to sleep. I’m a human dummy… sorry I can’t be more positive!! How old is your LO? At least he’s happy with the bottle in his mouth - mine screams. I think if that’s your starting point you’ll probably be successful eventually if you catch him at an optimum hunger point! We succeeded by starting with breast milk and moving onto formula before it all went to shit.

Mine is nearly 7m now so I’m hoping soon he’ll be getting enough food that I can cut BF right back.

I gave up with mine . I tried from 6 weeks until 5 months with every bottle on the market. He's one now and still breast feeding! He did start drinking from a straw cup when he was 6 months and will drink 4oz of milk if I'm away from him (that's only been a couple of times). You could try and persevere. I was told to get someone else to give the bottle as they smell the milk on you, never worked with us though.

we tried every bottle and teat combo known - no luck. In the end DD took from a teaspoon and a sippy cup. She's ended up OK

DC2 was fed from a cup during the day from 5 weeks old, so I can’t say that we got them on the bottle per se, but we did feed the baby enough milk for them to grow and allow the milk source to go to work.

What did your babies drink from their soppy cup? Formula or breast milk? I’ve tried my now 7mo on formula which he rejected, so I Reid Pat milk just as a way of enticing him onto the cup, but no luck yet. Can’t be bothered to express with my crappy hand pump just for him to refuse it but I will if I have to

@AlmostOver22 have you tried Lansinoh bottles? They’re the only ones that worked for me

Reid Pat milk is supposed to be gave oat milk 😖
