Leaving the baby for a holiday

I think I just need a hand - hold really.

I'm going on holiday with some friends for a hen - do at the end of August, and so will be leaving EBF DS 11mo at home with DH. I've expressed extra breast milk for while I'm away, and we're practising using a cup now (which he loves for water, but not breast milk Hmm) but I'm just worried about leaving him for 4 days without breastfeeding him - I'm hoping he'll just pick up where he left off when I get back, but the paranoid part of me thinks he'll cold turkey wean over 4 days...

Has anyone done anything similar? Any tips and tricks?

No, he used to, but hates it now

4 days does seem a long time to go without something he is used to, but if your DH is happy to ride the storm then go for it.

Were you planning on weaning soon anyway? If you were going to stop at, say, 1 year then doing it a few weeks early wouldn't be the end of the world. I think it more likely that he'll be glad to have you back and probably have missed the comfort of your milk

I did similar, my DC was 1 week shy of turning 1 and I went to Spain for a hen do. DC was down to one or two feeds a day and never took a bottle so essentially went cold turkey. He was fine, but my breasts were agony (I'm unlucky that I can pump and pump but nothing comes out).
Would you be considering weaning around then anyway? No pressure to, but that would work out nicely perhaps.
If you want to continue feeding then I've no advice I'm afraid.

@PuffinMcStuffin thank you! I'm not planning on weaning then, I was just going to let him decide when he wanted to wean (I'm still on 4ish feeds a day and night feeds, depending on teething / sickness).

I think I might just shorten my stay. Fingers crossed the bride doesn't mind...
