What to take to joint birthday party?

Sorry this is a bit of an unimportant question!

My colleague has kindly invited me and DD to his 2yo son's birthday party. It's joint with another boy who we've never met. I've already given birthday boy 1 a (very small) present as his actual birthday was last week. Is it OK to turn up empty handed present-wise? Obvs I don't mind getting something each for BB1 and BB2 but would that be OTT if I've already given BB1 a present and we don't know BB2?

Also, do mums wear something nice to these things? When I take DD out (to soft play etc) I'm in tracky bottoms but for a birthday party do people wear a nice summer dress etc?

Sorry I'm so clueless, I'm not from UK originally and where I'm from it's really different, and I've got this sort of thing wrong a lot! Thanks in advance for your tips!!

No need for more presents imho.

Id put something smart casual on.

In this case it's up to you id say. No one will mind/know if you don't take more presents, equally, bringing a small gift each as way of thanks for invitation is not over the top.

Regarding dressing up- again it's up to you. Some will put on a nice-ish outfit and makeup, others will not so it's whatever you are more comfortable in.

No need for a present - you've already given to the child you know.

No one dresses up for kids parties round here - I normally go for jeans and a nice t- shirt or top - I can guarantee I'll end up having to climb in the soft play frame or onto the bouncy castle at some point to retrieve DS so I'd rather not flash my pants!

Thank you all three for your reassurance! I think I probably won't get any presents then (it's this Saturday so I'd have to do a special trip to the shops), I'm relieved you all reckon it'll be fine!

I think I'll do skinny jeans and a nice top - I'm still breastfeeding so my clothing glamour is still v limited lol.

Thanks all :)
