hi just planning our garden out for dd, ive already got some great ideas from everyone one here

just wondered what you do with your wooden playhouses, do you leave the flooring bare or do you use some sort of flooring?

We've left the floor bare which is a good job because ds's like to make sand carpets

jennykb · 11/01/2008 11:09

We've left ours bare, but it's not very inviting in there once muddy footprints get on the floor. So I've decided to get some offcuts of carpet for it, to give it a warmer, homelier feel. But it's not likely to be used for really messy play.

hi nim yeah i was thinking of leaving it bare, as if i put carpet in there i will prob get trashed

although i guess i could put a rug in there that i can wash ?

ours is bare aswell but will possibly put some off cut carpet in there this summer

dilbertina · 11/01/2008 11:11

we've got old bit of carpet in ours, expect it will need binning fairly shortly but would have been binned anyway so heigh-ho.

robinredbreast · 11/01/2008 11:11

yes thats also a good point i could just get some cheap off cuts

we have an old big rug in ours but it gets filthy

I am going to paint the floors with white gloss floor paint for easy cleaning and just put a small rug in there

Ineedaholiday · 11/01/2008 16:44

we have cheap vinyl floor tiles from b&q in ours. Its easy to clean cos they use it most of the year.

PanicPants · 11/01/2008 16:45

Ineedaholiday - thats a good idea. I may have to copy you!

Whooosh · 11/01/2008 16:47

We put lino in ours-dirt cheap and easy to fit and clean....

Countingthegreyhairs · 11/01/2008 17:04

um, do any of you with bare floors get slugs in yours? We didn't until this summer ...

Sprogstersmum · 11/01/2008 20:23

Ours has got a couple of cheap (£1 each!) washable rugs from Ikea in it - stripy ones. The advantage of rugs is that you can at least shake them out easily to get rid of all the bits of grass/sand that get trailed in there.
