Toddler waking since new baby arrived

Hi,
My 2.5 year old has always been a relatively good sleeper. Would happily nap during the day and would sleep from 7:30/8pm to 6:30/7am. Since our new baby arrived around 2 months ago she has started waking numerous times during the night with any excuse for me or my husband to go into her room and waking at 5:30 most mornings and will then not go back to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this when a new baby arrived? Hoping it passes soon as I am shattered 24/7! Thank you.

Yes DS2 did this, he was very unsettled. Lots of nightmares mostly about me being away. Baby is 7 months old and he still does occasionally but it's not every night. It probably took a few months for it not to be every night.

Definitely get DH to deal with toddler wake ups. Maybe some processing during the day as well, talk to him about you going into hospital, talk about the new baby and how that's sometimes nice but sometimes hard etc. This should all help him to process the massive change and that might help with the waking up.

Yep. I was more tired dealing with my eldest than I was with the baby.
