dd2 is really getting to me lately. she wants one to one attention all day long, her eating habits are off the wall (she is eating loads lately), her tantrums are getting worse she now throws herself on the floor and does an ear piercing scream, she just wont sit still basically. she needs more attention than i give her all the time.

just feel like i'm letting her down by not beign able to do everything. if i gave her all the attention she needs/craves i'd get no housework, cooking etc done.

Sounds like you're having a rough time at the min My DS, 2.5yrs, certainly knows how to test me, too!

I read somewhere about the importance of finding positive "labels" so that, as someone else has said, children don't sub-consciously live up to their negative label and also so that you start to see her in a more positive light. If you persistently use positive words to describe her, maybe it'll start to rub off on others, too. eg spirited, lively, energetic, full of life and fun, inquisitive, strong-willed (yes, I've practised this, lol).

Good luck in dealing with DD2 and with your pg xx

Well this afternoon wasnt much better. dd2 was really lively during dd1 school visit, so i ended up wlaking round the block with her whilst dh attended the talks etc. School teacher asked why dd2 wasnt with dd1 group meeting the teachers, yet again i had to explain that dd2 is 2 and not 4/5yrs old. Tho she did come in handy for measuring up dd1 uniform, the joys of having 2 kdis the same size.

have now looked at the nursery up the road (it hasnt been open a year yet), dd2 liked it, asked me if she could go play when we were looking around. its a larger nursery than her last one, but this one means that she is guarentteed a state nursery palce at the nursery school opposite when she is 3.9yrs old. i said i'd take any morning session available, as they fit in with school times, the afternoon session start too late in reality.

really hope there is a place available for her in january.

misdee · 27/11/2004 23:13

said she will probably be in the 2.5/3.5yr room, as she'll be almost 2.5yrs old.
