DS has been quite a good sleeper. Only woke for bottles straight asleep after. He got into the habit of only napping on someone around 3weeks old but I haven’t been bothered as I know it’s a phase and the fourth trimester etc so I just went with the flow.

He was quite a good sleeper overnight and would sleep solo for a good stretch!

However, we’ve implemented a bedtime of around 8pm the past few days, one night went really well and the other 2 nights he’s slept on me from 2/3am until 7. I’m quite exhausted.

He’s had a stuffy nose, not a full blown cold but he seemed to be irritated by it so I’m assuming it’s this but now I’m just really worried I’ve created a habit that I wont be able to break and he won’t sleep alone in his cot?

We’ve been so busy the past few days too out and about so I’ve just let him Sleep on me so that he sleeps and isn’t over tired the next day (unlike mama here!)

Any tips please? Am I overreacting over 2 nights ??

He's got lots going on. He's been out and about more than usual, isn't well rested and has a cold. No wonder he wants the comfort of you. He'll also be about to go into the next phase of development.

Don't panic but the next few years of your life are going to be full of good and bad nights and most of that is out of your control! Once something comes along (a leap/illness/routine change/teething/weaning etc) things change and often never go back to exactly where they were...but move onto a new normal that lasts until the next change etc.

Most babies hate their cots in the fourth trimester so I hope you enjoyed it whilst it lasted Grin
