Four - and it feels like a lot sometimes! Couldn’t imagine how those who have loads of kids manage, I feel like I barely get all mine out the door for school some mornings!

LondonQueen · 22/02/2022 23:45

2 but I would like 3🥰

JustLyra · 22/02/2022 23:46

6 + my nephew has lived with us since he was 14.

Technically DS1 is DSS, but I defy anyone to tell me I'm not his Mum (his Mummy died when he was a toddler).

  1. All girls now in their late 20s. I never wanted children but they decided to appear nonetheless, within a space of 3.25 years. My god I’m glad they did!

Two.

Before I had kids I thought I wanted three, but then-

  • I had a traumatic birth with DD1
  • I had DD2 16 months after DD1 (we chose this; I had got through the worst of my PND and felt like if I didn’t try for another baby soon, I’d end up not having another. I fell pregnant the second month, which was a surprise)

Having two kids so close together has amazing but it’s definitely made me content with two. I’ve had two c sections and I think a third would push my body too far, plus I’ve had PND twice and I genuinely don’t think I’d be able to cope with (more than likely) a third round of PND, healing from a c section and having three kids to look after. That being said, my birth experience with DD2 was amazing (planned c section), my section recovery was hugely more bearable and my PND wasn’t half as bad. I knew this time to seek out help rather than bury it and suffer.

Financially, emotionally and logistically, two is a lot easier than three for us. My partner would be happy if we had three, and if I fell pregnant accidentally I’d absolutely have the baby, but two feels right for me and my partner obviously respects that.
