Funny baby group stories

Today I took my 9m old baby to one of our usual weekly baby clubs. It is story/song based and basically everyone sits in a circle, toys in the middle, babys and toddlers play or sit on laps/crawl around etc. There is a leader who sings the songs and reads the stories and the parents and children join in with words and actions. It's fun, dd seems to enjoy it.

Anyway back to today. A new lady and her baby join in. During the songs she sang really loudly just randomly started saying different words to the songs. It wasn't even like the songs were unknown, it was twinkle twinkle and you are my sunshine. She even tried to sing a different animal to the whole group when singing Old MacDonald Had a Farm. We were all singing a Chick with a cheep cheep here, cheep cheep there and shes like oink oink here oink oink there.

I was telling Dh and now thinking about it has made me irrationally annoyed 😂

Does anyone else have a funny baby group story?

At a toddler group with older DS there was a mum who refused the milk/ juice and biscuits on offer and claimed her son (about 16/18m maybe) only drank sparkling water and preferred Fox's biscuits so she brought her own full pack of biscuits. The Asda malted milks just weren't acceptable.

Your first story isn't really funny she's doing her best. It's hard enough joining in with these things for some people.

Mixed baby and toddler music group.

Babies laying on the floor, toddlers toddling around them, all lovely.

A toddler, c.18 mo months, still in nappies, squats over a babies head and starts loudly doing a poo.

Could it be because the baby knows oink oink and pigs and she trying to engage him/her?

Its not nice to poke fun at people on a public forum. If she read that she would know its about her. Imagine how you'd feel?

Oh ffs to the replies!! OP- she was a bit odd, but it takes all sorts!

You sound sneery. Does it matter that she sang out of time?

PolkaSpace · 18/02/2022 20:28

@Letsallscreamatthesistene exactly its pretty damp nasty

Took my baby to a group at the library. We sat down for the hello song and he did an explosive poo all up his back that soaked through to my white jumper. Took him away to find the toilets and get us both cleaned up and by the time I was back it was the goodbye song😂

She didn't sing out of time - she sang entirely different songs to the OP and everyone else. To the extent that she changed the animal they were all singing about to one she'd rather be singing.

At least that's what I got from the OP?

Or maybe she's just a sleep deprived mum who didn't know the words?! Jeez. Why does it matter enough to start a thread about it.

I agree. Or maybe she hates the song that was being sung or maybe she was feeling like being silly and singing a different song. Who knows. 1. It's not funny and 2. Leave her be instead of judging her!
