Hi All
Just had to share as I'm so so pleased. We've been toilet training DS1 for a few weeks now. he's got the hang of weeing in the toilet no problem with maybe 1 accident a week if that but has point blank refused to poo anywhere except in his pull ups. We've been going with the flow and not putting any pressure on him but gently reminding him that big boys poo on the loo and when he's ready to he'll get a gold badge and a treat. Well today I was tidying up the bathroom and he came in looking for his pull ups, very unusual for him. Having established he needed a poo (in fact a bit was already out) I helped him onto the loo and tried to encourage him to go there...no dice...he got very upset and managed to withhold the rest of the poo. Anyway after going back and forth for over an hour, trying to go on the loo, the potty, in an opened up pull up he finally couldn't hold it any longer and let loose on the loo YIPPEE Mega hugs, told him how proud I was, gold badge, treat, the works. The darn thing is he's back and nursery tomorow and they're rubbish at spotting when he needs to poo (he's poo'd in his pants every time he's been there). Do you think sending him with a pair of pull ups in his bag and telling him to go and get them and take them to one of the carers when he thinks he needs a poo would work? Any other ideas???
