22mo taking hours to go to sleep

Hi, my almost 2 year old is just having a nightmare sleep wise. He usually has 1 nap a day of 1-1.5 hours (usually 1hr) and he usually naps 12:45-1:45, he’s never asleep after 2:30.

He is taking hours and hours to go to sleep at night. We took him up to bed at 7:30 tonight for book and bed and he has fallen asleep at 9:30.

He at times hasn’t napped in the day and this means he falls to sleep within 30 minutes but he is really unsettled overnight, he also gets grouchy in the afternoons which makes me thinks he still needs a nap.

What on earth can I do to help, 2 hours is a massive chunk of evening when we both work full time and have lots to do to get ready for the next day. He also still wakes overnight all the time so even after all that effort of getting him to sleep we still don’t get any time to relax.

Was in same position. More physical exertion was needed in the day. She's almost two and fine now as long as we get her out and about moving - out of of herself pushchair.

What happens at bedtime? What's the routine and how does he fall asleep?

What time does he get up?

My dd did this too a little younger than your child. We dropped the nap and had quiet time instead.
