Before baby used to wake up at 6 ish or 6.30 and went to bed at 8.30. Now he started crawling and is going to bed early at 7 and waking up at 4.30 😬😓 this is with several wake ups overnight. needless to say we are exhausted. We are trying to do some gentle sleep training and transition him into falling asleep with shush pat and not with boob and to also sleep on the cot so wonder if this is him revelling because of the changes or whether we should try to go back to a later bedtime? Ideas welcome 🙏

Have you tried not having the light on when he wakes and you go to him, maybe the hallway light instead so there’s just enough light to see where you’re going. Gentle rub on head or tummy but no shhhh for you or anything. He may be being woken by a van going past your house. And wakes to need a bit of reassurance

Yes we bedshare so the lights are all off. I try to feed him which usually sends him back to sleep but no luck. He's eager to do things. Would he possibly need a later bedtime so that he sleeps longer in the mornings? He goes to bed 7 pm currently. Would later wake ups happen naturally as he starts walking?
