Neocate formula - has anyone tried and does does it taste vile?

Hi all, after weeks of stress and tears we’re finally seeing an allergy paediatrician tomorrow with my 4 month old. His nurse already told me he will prescribe Neocate if he feels baby is allergic to milk protein. I’m now reading that’s it tastes vile :( baby is 4 month so old enough to like/dislike the taste and I worry he will not drink it at all. His current milk (hipp organic) is lovely and sweet.
Anyone can confirm how long it took for their baby to improve after neocate?

@dancingintherain92 we’re good, over a week in now and he drinks it just fine. I stopped adding vanilla extract too and he is fine. Yes it stinks like cat food and taste even worse than cat food I imagine. And becouse he spit up quite a lot he just stinks all the time:) my DH says he stinks of old chipper oil :) but it is helping him so that’s all that matters. He hasn’t cried himself to sleep in a week now and his eczema is million times better. I wish you best of luck, definitely add 2 vanilla drops at the beginning and then 1 and then stop and I hope it works for your baby
