Ok, your 7 year old son apparantly says this at school in responce to being asked what he wants to be when he's older. The teacher says she is concerned about where he has got these ideas from.

Over-reaction to a silly school-boy dream?

complete over reaction as your obviously not training him to be an assasin.

i would ask them to detail their concerns and then look them up and down and say " stop being so ridiculous, if you have any concerns please notify the proper authorities as the last time i looked you were supposed to be educators not social police!"

Go back after Christmas and say that you've talked to him and he wants to assassinate crap teachers!

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 24/12/2007 00:21

heh that is funny!

my daughter (now 15) drew a picture of a skull and cross bones and passed it to another child in class - the headmaster phoned me at work and said she had issued a death threat and he was sure he didn't need to remind me how serious that was . . . she was EIGHT at the time how could I not laugh? they were probably playing a pirate game or something.

Children love to say things to shock. A good friend of mine was mortified the other week as her son was internally excluded for a day for calling another child a 'Paki'. He had no idea what it meant.

Bauble99 · 24/12/2007 00:23

Just make sure you don't buy him a balaclava for Christmas.

My DS says exactly the same to anyone who is stupid enough to ask a seven yo boy what they'd like to be when they grow up. Assassin, soldier and spy have been the recent responses.

I'd be really interested to know why adults ask 7yos what they want to be when they grow up and then act all surprised when they get a (fairly predictable) answer!

Custy - haven't seen you around for a while - great to see you

Bauble99 · 24/12/2007 00:25

My two older boys are obsessed with all things James-Bondish and military.

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 24/12/2007 00:25

did he give her some polonium-210 for christmas?

Desiderata · 24/12/2007 00:31

Yes, you're teacher's a complete loon.

She obviously doesn't realise that assassins get paid incredible amounts of money. It's a whammer of a career choice

Desiderata · 24/12/2007 00:32

Oh .. I meant your teacher, not you're ...

And I didn't even mean that! I mean ds's teacher.

Complete over reaction!
