Best gift you received as a new mum? Best friend is due to give birth any day, it's her first. I want to get her something useful for Christmas, but also something special so she still feels like she's got a gift too.

I'm planning on sending her some cook vouchers when the baby arrives. What did you appreciate/use most in the early months of being a mum?

I read 'cock vouchers' and doubted she'd want those immediately after birth...cook vouchers are ok though!

Company without expectations! We had an awful time getting DS to sleep anywhere but on us, so a friend brought dinner, ate with us then kept me company while feeding DS and watching movies till about 2am.

I get some people won't like that, but DH and I were sitting on the sofa with DS all night anyway and having company while doing that was fab!
