Dear mums! I wanted to put my story on here and ask to share your babies experience who had been in the same situation.
Our little baby girl is 8 weeks old now. Since 3 weeks old she has been extremely unsettled, constantly screaming, screaming for hours sometimes. She was very gassy abs we used to blame the colics. She would not go flat anywhere, hated her buggy and used to had her naps only on us . By some miracle she was sleeping in her mosses basket at nights even if it was only 2 h stretch.
Then she started being fussy on her bottle , coughing mid feed , wheezing after feeding. She was spitting up her milk but not a lot . We could hear something the liquid going up her throat but not coming out coming out abs that is when she used to scream the most .
We went to see a private specialist abs she been diagnosed with the silent reflux abs out on omeprazol. She has been on this medication for 8 days now and we have seen some improvement already, she seems more settled and happier and most important does joy scream after her feed. But I understand that is takes 2 weeks for the medication to work properly.
Anyway yesterday we had a setback and she went screaming for 3 hours after her bottle and screaming even more after bringing up some of her milk out .
I be wanted to ask for you to share your experience of your babies with the silent reflux and if they been on this medication. How long it took for the next to work . Was the baby totally different after the medication worked ? Did you had any setbacks like us ? Did it ever got worse before it got better ? Please share your baby stories abs how long they been on this medication? Have they outgrow the reflux by themselves? At what age if yes?
Sorry for the long post abs many thanks for your reply.

DS had horrendous projectile vomiting and chronically short naps. Had to take ranitidine and domperidone. Developed oesophagitis and still struggles with some reflux now (7).

DD had silent reflux. Omeprazole didn't really do much. I ended up cutting out all dairy (breastfed) by it eased things.

The medications are sensitive to weight gain so we had to have them reviewed frequently when dc were babies.
