she has entered her child too, but im not sure what page the child is on, that y she made the comment she is confident her child will get more votes due to the colour teh skin, what madness is that!!! im still sooooo vexed about it!!!
i do really want to go up to her and have a go! but the person who said is quite a rough person she boasts everyweek that she got into a fight up town, im not that sort of person i dot go around punching people ima wimp, so im scared she will hit me if i confront her. does that sound silly?
thanks for voting!

Cashncarry - totally agree with you. It actually didn't even cross my mind that voting might be a proper response to this situaion.

mommy2007 · 09/12/2007 21:31

Wow - what a manipulative OP.

What are you all going to do if MN gets a name for being a site on which you can rig votes for baby beauty pageants, given a suitable sob story?

Not saying you've made this up, M2007, but it's a slippery slope towards the invasion of the hun(s).

My kids are mixed race and I find this thread hard to believe. It's a great way to get votes but if it's true you are not helping to combat racism by entering your daughter into a beauty competition.

I actually find it offensive as you are implying that mixed race children are only worthy if they can win a sodding beauty competition, makes you no better than your friend.

hercules1 · 09/12/2007 22:53

Mixed race children can be ugly you know just the same way any one can be...

Your baby may be disqualified for this you know. Canvassing for votes like this, tut tut. The organizer will wonder why such a high amounts of votes are comming through from mumsnet, they can see in "history" exactly what people were looking at prior to voting. It is called "Fixing", I believe.

Saturn74 · 09/12/2007 22:57

I would think the organisers would probably disqualify any entry that is soliciting votes in this way.

Saturn74 · 09/12/2007 22:57

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 09/12/2007 22:58

AND two days running, dont you believe she can win on her own merits?

BahHunkerBug · 09/12/2007 22:58

QE has a point. I can see where traffic comes from for my blog. Fascinating, it is too - search engine terms, etc. If I click a link to a referrer, I get right to the thread on MN (or elsewhere) - and can read what people are saying about it.

candypandy · 09/12/2007 23:00

unbelievable

hope she wins

BahHunkerBug · 09/12/2007 23:02

Good lord, you really have set up a FB page!

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 09/12/2007 23:02

Ah hunker, does that mean you can check what shopping (or porn with a pretence) dp was doing before I came to your blog

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/12/2007 23:02

I will not be voting as I think this is just a ploy to get more votes, I will be reporting it to the competition though.

BahHunkerBug · 09/12/2007 23:04

LOL, no, VS - you can check how somebody navigated to your site - so if you click on a link to the blog from MN, or another place it's been posted, I can see that someone did that - but not who did it. So your secret's safe. Well, it would've been

Desiderata · 09/12/2007 23:49

Grow up, you silly bint.

You load of miserable gits

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 10/12/2007 18:13

Oh comeon kittymas!!
Surely you can see how unfair it is if the OP's child wins a competition purely based on a sob story

KITTYmaspudding · 10/12/2007 18:36

I can see your point tinytim, BUT What's the betting that most of the mums on there are canvassing votes?
I can see how it's wrong but then I only have to look at all those dancing/singing comps on t.,v and their friends and families are filmed canvassing AND it's always presented with a sob story, e.g "here's Mandy ( no offence to mandy's) she recently had all her limbs amputated, both her parents died yesterday and she's in a terrible mess" Mandy comes on weeping and is filmed over the following weeks, weeping. It happens all the time. gets on my (tiny) tits though!!!
