My one year old has had a cold, then a couple of days ago he developed a rash.. dr said it’s viral but everyone I’ve messaged says chicken pox..

Generally chicken pox is obvious as the number of spots multiply rapidly.

@SoupDragon I’ve not noticed anymore really and they’re tiny like pimples.. haven’t changed In 2 days. Strange!

They don't look quite right for chicken pox. Not to me anyway. When my three had it it was really obvious as they multiplied overnight and were quite red and nasty looking. It was a long time ago now though!

Chicken pox is big, fluid filled blisters. It looks nothing like that.

Soontobe60 · 07/10/2021 16:33

No, they don’t look like CP to me either.

Hopesanddreams2887 · 07/10/2021 16:35

I’m kind of relieved.. they’re like tiny pimples but everywhere, can’t seem to find anything like it online 🤷‍♀️

Chicken pox wouldn’t change anything about the management of it, only that you couldn’t give ibuprofen. So just don’t give that and otherwise carry on as you are.

dementedpixie · 07/10/2021 16:35

Chicken pox turns into fluid filled blisters that burst and scab. Could be a post viral rash

CottonSock · 07/10/2021 16:36

Mine got viral rash like that

Minniemoo60 · 07/10/2021 16:38

My son had exactly the same last week and it ended up being hand foot and mouth. Started with a high temp and rash and spots like that then he had the blisters on his mouth, hands and feet and really bad nappy rash. GP said viral and if blisters is HFM which is also viral.
