potty training is pear shaped in our house. dd 2.7yr old refuse to sit on toilet seat. we got collection of the, pink, disney wionnie pooh etc
still in nappies wont use toilet, tried no nappy and had wet dd and house couple of days after serious cries and tears went back nappy( i know i shouldnt)
i had newborn(my excuse). ds now 14 weeks. want dd potty trained and done quick but not getting anywhere.
should i buy fisher price royal potty for her? will this make an difference? i think dd is terrified of sitting on normal toilet.
advice plz?

Just because you want her trained won't make it happen, and if she isn't ready it won't be quick. If you wait until she is ready, you can do it in a few days. The more potties you buy, the more you make it an issue and she has power over you imho.

This could have been me posting a few days ago. We tried to train dd from 2.6 and she just refused - point blank. Wouldn't sit on toilet or potty. On Wednesday she told me she wanted to wear a dress to nursery (I always make her wear trousers as more pratical) so I said she could once she learnt to use the potty or toilet. So, she did. We started thursday lunchtime and she couldn't 'release' although she was desperate to go but held it. She then had an accident and it seemed to click. One wee accident friday and a poo accident. No accidents yesterday and we have had 1 poo one today. Wee she appears to have cracked over night but poo may take a bit longer.

Anyway, thats a long winded way of saying - really leave it until she wants to. DD is 2.10 so it was getting a bit embarrassing but the bonus is at this age she's got it really quickly (because I think she could have doen it ages ago if she'd wanted to) and can pull her clothes up and down and climb on the proper toilet.
