Travel sleeping solutions for older baby/young toddler!

I have a tall, chunky 14 month old who is already filling his travel cot. We are going away when he will be 18 months and then again at 21 months, both for a few nights each time. I’m probably overthinking this, but what would a toddler sleep in at that age when away? I suspect he will have long outgrown the travel cot, but all the portable fold up/inflatable toddler beds seem to be supremely easy to climb out of and require the logic of an older toddler to (hopefully) stay put in! I feel it would be the same with the little life arc 2 - too easy to push over and escape! Has anyone found any solutions? Thanks.

Is your travel cot particularly small? Mine is almost the size of my daughters cot bed - I use the same sheets. She’s 2 and a half and still in it easily! Might be worth investing in a bigger travel cot.

There are foldaway/inflatable toddler beds I believe, but I haven’t looked at these too closely, as she’s still in a cot at home and like you I wouldn’t want her in anything she could escape when we are away.

We've got a regular size one and DS fitted in it till about 2 - he's over the 90th centile for weight and height. He just used to sleep diagonally!

What travel cot do you have? The standard ones are the size of a normal cot and my tall DC fitted in then until 2. Then we moved to a ready bed or just using whatever bed was available at the accommodation.

By standard I mean hauck, graco, chicco etc - all those brands.

The babybjorn is 105cm mattress but I’m planning to squeeze Ds forever! Maybe not but he’s fairly tall now at 15 months and still will be using travelling as long as possible. I think they like it snug anyway

But they also sell ready beds on Amazon which say 18month- 3 years so I guess that’s the next thing. But no sides to stop them escaping

Get a bigger travel cot.

We moved DC to single beds relatively early but with a bed guard (one side of the bed shoved against a wall) at ages 5 & 3 they still have the bed guards. We take them away with us on holidays as they fold flat or take apart quite easily. Until recently though the (only just turned) 3 year old was happier in a travel cot at Grandparents houses.

We've got a hauck sleep n play (had it on offer in a supermarket) and its really big, easily fits my 98th height centile toddler DD
