My DS is nearly two. Smaller things that we've bought him are a gro-clock and some small duplo sets (one of farm animals, one of police vehicles).

mongoosebaby · 30/07/2021 19:33

Duplo! Always a hit, doesn't matter if you have more than one, not offensive to any parenting style.....I like the animal ones for that age.

BadgertheBodger · 30/07/2021 19:33

Julia Donaldson book
Happyland toy
Toy cars
The Duplo train with numbers on
Bath toys
Travel Aquadoodle

IKEA kitchen! Two year later and it still the most played with toy. Often on FB for a steal!

Ihaveoflate · 30/07/2021 19:36

My 2 year old got books, toy vehicles (digger, tractor etc), reusable sticker books and a shape sorter. She especially loves the stickers and books.

I'm getting my DS a toy kitchen, just a plastic one and nothing overly fancy, he loves anything kitchen/cooking related

CarryOn1 · 30/07/2021 19:42

Toy vehicle of any kind.

irresistibleoverwhelm · 30/07/2021 19:45

Duplo, or any kind of wooden train set/train/pieces!

DD's favourite present at 2 was a wooden train set. She played with it every day until she was over 5. Ditto Duplo, which she loved.

Other failsafe things for that age - sturdy bath toys. A couple of nice classic books. Crayons/chalks/paper. Sticker books.

We were recently given some smartmax magnetic dinosaurs- huge hit with 18m old and almost 4yo.

Lanka kade make really lovely wooden toys. My 2 year has a couple of push along toys from there which he loves, and they would make a great gift.

ElizaDoolots · 30/07/2021 19:56

My DD turned 2 last month and her favourite toys were some wooden food (you can get cakes, ice creams, fruit, veg, etc) and some counting bears. She had a play dough set too that was very popular but I’m currently hiding it from her cause it’s too messy!

Justme10 · 30/07/2021 20:02

As previously said duplo is great for that age.
If you are thinking of getting cars/vehicles then toot toot are really good ones.
Toy figures of characters they like or animal toys.

Ahwig · 30/07/2021 20:18

One of my son’s favourite presents at that age was a humming top. He was obsessed with it.
