Have we damaged our newborn’s hearing?

I was absolutely exhausted from being awake with the little one all night so my partner took over while I went for a nap. I woke up and came downstairs to find his iPhone in the baby’s Moses basket playing a Hoover noise. It was extremely loud. I turned it down and now I’m panicking that his hearing will be affected.

Can anyone give advice? The baby seemed to like it to be fair. But really paranoid now. He has since reacted to noises in the house, but I’ve been Googling about permanent hearing loss and I’m spiralling!

Hilarious isn’t it @Letsallscreamatthesistene Grin

“Well this clinical trial study in Chicago suggests that if your baby tilts his head a certain way, it means you’ve failed as a mother.”

Nah they'll be fine!

When dd had colic the hv told us music with a heavy base played loud could help - and it did!

Dd still into similar music Grin

I also did the washing machine thing but I think it was 2 fold - the sound and the rhythm of the spin as we were in a flat at the time and the spin would make the floor vibrate so dd in bouncy chair in front of washer, laundry load spun about 6 times! (Did dry much quicker!)
