bad mummy moments, please top mine and make me feel better!

DD2 had diahorrea for 10 days (this is not unusal for her she has an underlying health condition although 4 days is normal max), after 7 days i phoned GP who said take a sample and we'll test it, got the results back today she has a form of food poisoning.

bad mummy moment is that i sent her to nursery all week (she'd have been no risk to other children and in my defense i thought it was just her normal health problem) but would have felt realli ill

not v helpful but you sent her to nursery knowing she had diarrhoea?

You are not a bad mummy, I once felt bad as my dd had a cough for ages and I thought it would just go away. It turned out she had a chest infection and needed antibiotics

I felt awful about it but these things happen.

Don't beat yourself up about it

mom - this is not ususal for her, she has a rare skin condition which a side effect of is diahorrea, i assumed for the first 4 days this was what was wrong, which is also why i phoned the GP on day 5 because more than 4 days isn't normal.

don't beat yourself up - just learn from it is what I say..

DD grabbed some very hot water when she was 6m I had left on her highchair. Felt so bad...still do really

Hideous bad parent moment to make you feel better:

DS (2.5) has been making life very hard at bedtime. After a long day at work and 2 hours of him stropping and whining and faffing and generally pushing all my buttons at once I said (under my breath but in the same room) "You're being such a little shit"

DS gave me his cutest sideways look and said:

"I'm not a shit mummy; I'm a boy"

God I felt AWFUL

iv just eaten most of dd's dinner
the other week dd 18mo grabbed knife off kitchen side and it fell blade down just missing her

How many examples do you want?
Dd went to school with campilobacter poisoning. Notifiable and everything. Only found out when dh took her to the doctor. I don't think I'd have ever got round to it.

what is that PT?

OK I have a list here are two of the worst .My ds recently broke his arm I didn't realise this and went into the room looked at his arm up gave it a tug and said it looks fine to me I have been made to feel bad ever since by DS!
A couple of years ago whilst heavily pregnant I was rushing to get to school with 4 dc I plopped the youngest (age 2 then) in the buggy realised I hadn't got a blanket for her, Ran upstairs to get one and wrapped it around her.Then started to bounce buggy down 3 concrete steps when she promptly fell out headfirst on to path I had forgot to clip her in !!
I had to endure a lecture from the doctor about been more careful too but she was fine .

when ds was about 1, an old friend and I had a couple of glasses of wine with a 'catch up' lunch. when she left i lay on the sofa whilst ds played with some toys on the floor. The next thing I knew I was woken by a furious looking dh (about 2 hours later) and a totally soot covered baby who had been happily playing in the fireplace and eating all the coal. .

It's food poisoning . I think it is one that can be picked up from raw (red?) meat, or from soil - so she could have got it from sucking her thumb after playing outside I think. But the doctor had to report it to somebody

PT thats what dd2 had.

Did they tell you it's notifiable, too? Mind you, knowing you're on a par with me probably hasn't made you feel better...

I know, you can blame dd2's godmother . It can all be her fault.

yep said it was notifable and that it probably wouldn't come to anything esp as she was out of the country 48hours prior to first symptoms.

Ah but PT which one she does have 3 godmothers after all!
