5 month old bad cough and cold, when to see a doctor?

My 5 month old for over a week now has had a cough and cold, it hasn’t seemed to bother her but for the last several days it has got progressively worse. I originally spoke to a doctor a few days into the illness who said not to worry and to give calpol etc and it was probably viral. DD now is barely drinking her milk. She sometimes has coughed so aggressively it brings up what little milk she has taken. I’ve just put her down to sleep now but she has again barely taken an ounce for her night bottle and I just worry she isn’t getting enough fluids 😞

Posted too early, I just wanted advice as to whether to speak to a doctor again or whether this is just a nasty virus that doesn’t need medical attention? I don’t want to feel as though I am pestering them.

Call 111 and explain what is happening to them. If she’s not drinking she may need medical support.

If you are worried enough about your baby to post on here, it’s justifiable to call your GP or 111 for advice. Everyone would rather waste some time seeing a baby or child who didn’t need it than someone not be seen who should be.
