First Father’s Day ideas

Not sure where else to post this. Looking for some gift inspiration for DHs first Father’s Day? He’s quite sentimental so I know he’d appreciate something thoughtful/special. I’m just really struggling for ideas 😓

Budget isn’t an issue if it’s something nice. He got me a beautiful piece of meaningful jewellery for Mother’s Day if that makes any difference?

I've also been struggling to find something so looking for inspiration but I did come across a personalised wallet which I thought was nice

I got my DH a dog tag style necklace that has the date of our marriage on one tag and the dates of birth of our children engraved on the other tag. I think it was from Not On the High Street, it was a few years ago now.

This year getting DH an engraved beer pitcher, personalised socks, and a card "made" by DS who is 7 months (I am just hoping those paints will wash off his clothes as easily as they claim!).

@Mc3209 Always mix washing up liquid in paint, it comes out much easier then ☺️

Second fathers day, but im getting my husband a big card from my 14mo in which ill write some sentimental words, and im having a cake custom made in the shape/style of his guitar (his most prized object!)

@1stimeboymum @TooMinty I did have a look at the wallets on Etsy and there were some lovely ones! And he’s not a big jewellery person but does like a leather bracelet. Seen a nice one with engraving on the clasp that could be a nice option 😊

@Mc3209 @Sls668 Going to do a made card from our 7m old too 😊 great tip about the paint and washing up liquid! I’m sure that’ll come in handy 😁

@Letsallscreamatthesistene Cake is a good shout too! Plus, it’s really a gift for the whole family 😁🐷 and I like cake 🤣

Not on the high street is a great place to look and wonderbly do lovely personalised books for dads with great stories they can read together.
For DS dad's first Father's Day I had a star named after the both of them.

Happy daddy's day baby gro for DS, photo card from DS and something personal from me. You know your DH, what kind of thing would he like? Even something silly like a key ring might be nice with a photo?

I always get stuff from Not on the high street- great stuff on there

I’ve got my DH a wooden watch with an engraving on the back. Could be good if your DH likes watches.

Second Father’s Day for us. Last year I got a watch for DH and engraved the back with the date and our child’s name.

This year we have 2 (under 2) and I’ve booked him a spa retreat for an afternoon the weekend after Father’s Day. I know he’ll want to spend the day with us so he can have another relaxing day to look forward to.

Last year for 1st Father's Day was a personalised baby grow as she was so wee. This year I'm getting an engraved hammer from Etsy with something like 'if my Daddy can't fix it, no-one can!'

I like the photo cushions.
Dh works away so they're nice for him to have on his bed when he's not home.

@Temple29 That’s a nice idea 😊 My DH works away from home for weeks at a time so I know he wouldn’t appreciate anything that meant him not spending time with us at the moment but he does love a spa so I’ll keep that idea for future 😊

@Chelyanne Mine works away from home too 😊 Not sure he’d have room to pack a photo cushion but have ordered him a lovely metal wallet card with a photo and a message on it as a wee extra 😊

Emma Bridgewater does beautiful mugs that you can get in a normal size and a mini size - I’ve got a normal sized one saying ‘daddy’ and a small one with my son’s name. My son won’t be able to use his for a while, but one day they can match ❤️

I did a hand print...then did it again the next year etc. They grow so quick and seeing the series of little hands with DD2 joining in is delightful!

For my hubby's first father's day, my main present was the daddy and me personalised board book from pinhole press. It was a winner and something to keep forever.
