What to dress baby in?

Hi everyone, FTM so prob a daft question but now the weather is getting warmer what should I be dressing my 4 month old son in? It's due to be 20-22c here over the next few days. Is that warm enough for shorts and tshirt? When do you ditch the vests underneath? He will of course be kept in the shade when outside so won't be in the direct sunlight and a hat worn! Thanks for any advice for a complete novice!!!

I feel so unprepared for the warm weather after such a long winter/spring! I usually keep a vest on (apart from on properly hot days) because it helps keep the nappy in place in my experience. I brought some nice patterned vests so will probably use them instead of a t-shirt with a pair of leggings or shorts (depending on how hot it gets here). Cardi & light blanket on hand too as I think they do get a bit chilly sat in the buggy or sat in the shade.

I found with DC1 that little short sleeved/legged rompers were a godsend in the hot weather as it's just one layer.

Oh I had this worry last year. When it was very warm, I went with light rompers, like a short all in one thing. If you don’t want to ditch the vest, because like PP said they’re good for holding the nappy in place, you can go for vest and shorts or trousers.

Just do what you think is best and keep an eye on how baby’s arms and legs feel (hands are always cold on my DS!)

It's such a turn around with weather recently! I'm a FTM with a 7 month old so we're going with t-shirt, white/light coloured leggings and I'll have a vest in underneath so I can take the t-shirt off if she's too warm.
I agree with others that rompers are a life saver. You get nice light fabric ones from h&m and m&S plus cute sun hats that can cover the back of their neck
