Just that. Just because there are a few kids who get to skip stuff in the class, DC thinks he doesn't have to try. Dc will say "I'm not at the bottom". However he could work harder than he does and apply himself a bit more - and he's losing out on some opportunities because of this. His class has 3 streams, 3 children who struggle at school and get to skip: 9 in the same stream as DC: and 18 in the top stream. They're not called streams but this is what they are. Sometimes the kids in the top stream can't be bothered with kids in DC's stream si there's a pulling away. DC is above average at math, below in literacy. He's 7
