Worried about constant swaddling for 7wk old baby

swaddling at night really helped settle my sprog, but he's never slept well during the day (1hr max). This week I bought a 'Miracle Blanket' and started to swaddle during the day. Yep, it's a miracle and he sleeps a lot longer!

BUT - is it harming him to be all bundled up 24/7? I know I have to loosen it/free one arm from 12 weeks to encourage shoulder devpt.

How long should babies be awake at this age?

I swaddled my son day and night from birth until 12 weeks when I took hims arms outside the swaddle. Never did him any harm as far as I can tell.
At that age I think the recommended daily sleep total is about 4 hours (45 mins morning, 2hrs-2 and a half at lunchtime and 30 mins late afternoon).
