Is it feasible that I could go down to enough breastmilk for bedtime feed in future?

FTM of 4mo old here and starting to think about our future with Bfing. At the moment my DD is EBF, with an expressed bottle from dad every now and then. When she's older and I'm heading back to work full time I'd love to continue to BF her but only in the evenings before bed- but could I get my boobs to actually work like that? Would my supply dwindle away or would I get clogged up in the day?

Sorry if silly question, as I said FTM so interested to see if this has worked for anyone?

Your supply adjusts to the demand, so that’s totally feasible. Just don’t go suddenly from 5x a day to 1x a day - stagger it down gradually.

I went back to work bf breakfast time and bedtime at 6 months pp. Then just bedtime from 1 year old.

Exactly as widgeon says - when I went back to work we went down to just the night time feed, and stayed like that for another year! You do have to taper down though - I did a couple of weeks of "don't offer don't refuse" all day and only offered at bedtime, and it tapered down naturally.

I went back to work at 6m. Bf morning and evening, occasionally stuck an extra one in about 11pm.

Had yoghurt/cereal or some other snack at nursery.

Was fine.

I went back to work when dd was 9 months. She'd have a feed when we got home and before bed. She's 2 now and still bf.

It adjusts to demand. I fed just once a day for 18 months (2 to 3.5).

Yes, will be absolutely fine. I went down to 1-2 feeds a day around 14/15 months.
